Thesis 3.2 V6 - doesn't want to start

Hi there

Sorry for my post in english. I am from slovenia and you might expect, I have no knowledgr of polish. But I see there are many knowledgeable people here that could help me out:

Simply: my thesis will not start.

I have a completely new 100aH battery
Keyless entry
When I turn the "switch", xenons go on, ventilation starts, no errors, diagnostic done...
But then, when I try to rotate the switch to turn the engine on, nothing happes. No errors, no flashing lights, no sound.

It also happened yesterday, but after a few tries, car started. But now it is dead.

Any ideas what could go wrong?

Starter relay is broken. The relay is inside the box with fender. I had the same failure.

Open engine fuse and relay box- drivers side fender. Check T20 relay- put it in place of T03 (horn) and of course check the horn. If you won't hear signal- replace this relay.

Most problems with engine are made by relays in this box- for example immobilizer.

Jacek, hi

I am checking diagrams and horn fuse seems to be 15 amps (while t20 injector is 20) and it is not in a position 3. It seems to be in a position 11 according to the diagram in the manual:

Page 289 of this manual: https://www.google.si/url?sa=t&source=w ... bHUN177TGg

Am I looking at something wrong here? I know I am talking about fuses, but I cannot find diagram for relay locations.

Bardtek, thanks.

I cant access the car right now, so I want to get 100% prepared.

Any ideas which one is for the horn? I see on my honda that the fuse/relayh box has a full diagram printed on the plastic box. Does lancia have the same? So I will know exactly where the horn is. Thing is, I have no other alternative to test if the relay works or not.

Starter relay is T20 (pictogram with rotating arrow). There are two option: Problem with starter or relay T20. Many problems makes bad relays.
Look at the pictures.
The fastest method to check relays is insert it in to slot horn and press horn buton.

Other way: try start in neutral position of automatic gerabox. Maybe is problem with park position
Best regards

Hi there

I will post some photos the moment I get in front of the computer

Here is what I did:
- checked if I can turn on the car in neutral. It did not work
- opened relay box ( it was very tight, there is 0 space in the engine bay of this car :-? )
-swapped the relays, horn still worked. So relay was not destroyed.
- saw that one fuse was blown. The one for the fuel pump. 15a, blue one. I changed it, but the engine is still dead.

If you check the photo, the left blue fuse 15amp was replaced. And as you see, I was also playing with the positions of relays.

If you look at the top right corner, you will see a wire that has damaged insulation. Brown. It goes into the fuse box, but it was damaged because it was squeezed between the covers of the fuse box. Wtf. Any ideas what it is?

Please check if there's voltage on starters' coil. Could be that simply the starter is broken. You should also try to read errors from CPU. Could be You get some but theyre not displayed

Hi everyone

after some investigation by my mechanic, we could not find the source of the problem. Obviously it seems electrical, because after taking out and putting in all the relays and fuses, "touching" all the cables, the car is working like a charm.

So, no cause has been found. Mechanic was talking about potentially a problem in the gearbox that it did not send the correct signal to the starter, but this I would found non realistic, because the dashboard reads the "gears" correctly and I am sure this is the same signal sent to the starter.

It is really annoying that the root problem has not been identified.

any comments?
